This week following Sunday Eucharist, we will be joined by architect Sheryl Jordan, who will guide a discussion of our hopes for the renovation of the downstairs Sunday School area. Please come to the Undercroft for food and important conversation about the opportunity we have to unlock our space for the benefit of our children and youth!

The Sunday before Martin Luther King Day is a special one at All Saints'. This will be our third year welcoming a preacher from another faith tradition, and I look forward to Rabbi Carl's message to us all. This has been a trying year for our Jewish neighbors, and we are blessed to have Rabbi Carl among us this weekend.
In addition, we will hear the words of Pauli Murray. Mother Murray was a prominent civil rights activist and writer--and the first African-American woman ordained to the priesthood in the Episcopal Church. In 2017, Yale University named its newest residential college after her, in part to honor her achievement as the first African-American to receive a Doctor of Juridical Science from Yale Law School. She is a fascinating and inspiring figure, and in order to hear her voice, Adam Menninga, our choir director, has arranged her poem titled "Psalm of Deliverance (To the Negro School Children of the American South in the Year 1959)" to be sung by our choir as the psalm this week. Click here to read Mother Murray's poem, watch a video clip from this past Sunday's Sound Bath Evensong, and learn more about upcoming events at the church! This Sunday at 5pm, Sound Bath Evensong returns to All Saints'. This meditative liturgy combines the traditional Anglican service of Evening Prayer with soothing sounds provided by musician Alex Beckmann. All money collected at this Evensong will be donated to CHiPS, our Park Slope soup kitchen and women’s shelter. Dear Friends in Christ,
We are fast approaching the festival of Jesus' incarnation. For many, the joy of this season is mixed with a range of emotions, from stress to anxiety to grief. At this sacred yet sometimes complicated time, I invite you to sit in wonder at the original meaning of Christmas: that God would deign to take on human flesh and dwell among us as one of us, to feel and understand the complexity of being human. Our Christmas liturgies are intended to worship God and put us in right relationship with Jesus Christ. There are ample opportunities to take part in this life of worship at All Saints' Church, beginning with our observance of the Fourth Sunday of Advent this Sunday at 10am. Christmas Eve celebrations take place at 4pm and 10pm, followed by our Christmas Day Eucharist at 10am. I hope to see you here at All Saints' Church! In Christ’s love, The Rev. Steven D. Paulikas Rector For more information on upcoming Christmas events, click here. The All Saints' Christmas Pageant is coming up this Sunday, December 16 during the 10am Eucharist. It will feature some of All Saints' most adorable young parishioners, and a few special cameos from Wise People you might recognize. Hope to see you Sunday!
