Bishop Provenzano Calls for Action Following Spate of Mass Shootings August 5, 2019 Dear Brothers and Sisters, Like many across the country—indeed the world—I woke up Sunday morning sickened by the news of the mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio while still reeling from the mass shooting in El Paso only the day before and the mass shootings in Gilroy, California and in Brooklyn only a week before that. Along with many of you, I wonder how is this possible? How is it possible that we have done nothing as a country to stop this from happening again and again? When will enough be enough? In response to this overwhelming grief and anger, we must pray because it is what we believe. But it is not enough—we must also act. You can read Bishop Provenzano's complete statement here |
