A Letter From the Rector

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Our country--and the world--have just witnessed an historic event. As people of faith, we trust in God's graciousness in every situation, and we lean on one another in good times and bad. We pray today, as we always do, for those entrusted with authority and for peace in our time.

In his campaign, our next president advocated discrimination based on religion. While we may agree or disagree with many things he has said, Christians cannot abide this intolerance and must ensure it never has an official place in this country. Our spiritual forebears were persecuted by their government, and Jesus himself was executed by the state. We have a sacred obligation to uphold the safety and freedom of our neighbors to believe and worship as they will.

This work begins in our church. For this reason, and for our own spiritual well-being, I invite you to All Saints' Church tonight at 7:30pm for a service of Evening Prayer followed by a town hall discussion. Please come to pray and sing together. Invite your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. All are welcome.

May God continue to bless us all.

In Christ,

The Rev. Steven D. Paulikas
Rector
